Brand new in the free v1.2 firmware update for Launchpad Pro [mk3] are features that expand the creative and performance capabilities of the grid controller.

Unquantised Recording

With the unquantised recording feature you may record directly to micro steps in the sequencer. This is great for capturing the organic feel of your live playing and getting your beats off-grid. Enable and disable Record Quantise by holding [shift] and pressing the [Quantise/Record Quantise] button. Recording will be unquantised when the button is lit red.

Performance Velocity, Probability and Mutation

Step parameters may now be performed live, allowing you to get hands on with your sequences and create interesting and intricate rhythms on the fly. During playback, hold any value for one of these parameters to override the step's assigned value. This can be recorded to a pattern.

Pad Trigger Threshold

The pressure required to trigger a pad may now be customised between four different options. That is, you may customise Launchpad Pro’s pads to respond to very light touches, or to be more forgiving to compensate for a heavier touch, triggering only when a pad is pressed harder. Select between the different thresholds in the velocity menu, accessed by holding [setup] and pressing the second Track Select button. The four pads on the right-hand side represent the different options, with the lowest threshold on the left-hand side, and the highest on the right.

Legacy Mode

Legacy Mode re-introduces the User layout of the original Launchpad Pro. This brings a level of backwards compatibility that allows you to interface with legacy applications and lightshow performances designed for the original Launchpad Pro. To enter Legacy Mode, hold [setup] and press the Scene Launch button labelled [mutation]. Upon releasing [setup], Launchpad Pro will be in Legacy Mode. To return to normal functionality, hold [setup] and press the Scene Launch button labelled [micro Step].
