The MUTEC MC-8 and MC-8.1 devices are high-performance multi-channel interface and sampling rate converters for AES3 and AES3id. The MC-8 uni-directionally converts and distributes AES3 into AES3id signals on eight channels at up to 192.0 kHz sampling rates. The MC-8.1 operates in the opposite conversion direction from AES3id to AES3. Thanks to cutting-edge FPGA designs, the MC-8 and MC-8.1 achieve industry-leading performance regarding their signal quality, flexibility and clocking features. The SRC engines of both devices are synchronizable to external references via Word Clock and AES11, including a “hold” or “fly-wheel” function securing interruption-free audio conversion in case of an unstable or absent clock reference.
