The Korg Electribe EMX1SD is a groove production machine that has a built in slot for your SD card. The EMX1SD is affordable costing less than 500 dollars and is very easy to program it, you don’t have to be a sound designer or a pro at drum programming to figure out how to work this machine. You will not even have to check out the manual to figure it out because it is pretty self explanatory to use the EMX1SD. If you do need to use the manual it is perfectly laid out to find what you are looking for.

UTILIZATION

The EMX1SD by Korg has some really neat features that were not on previous versions of the Electribe, the EMX1SD has a twin vacuum tube valve that will bring a really warm punchy sound to your programs. When bringing audio into the EMX1SD, you can use the auto BPM function to find out what the tempo of the audio file is. Sometimes it is not right on with the tempo and you might have to tweak the tempo a little bit to get it exactly to match up with what it should be.

SOUNDS

The EMX1SD has MIDI in MIDI out and MIDI thru and External Memory up to 32GB via a memory or SD card. Along with a ¼ TS Audio in and ¼ TS main, ¼ TS individual 3 and 4 plus 1 ¼ headphone output.

OVERALL OPINION

The value for the price of the EMX1SD by KorgElectribe is right on. For the low price of 500 dollars you will be able to do things that some of your more expensive gear cannot perform. The sequencer was actually a big shock to me because I didn’t expect it to be that crisp coming on a Korg unit that cost so little. Same thing with the “arp” function, it uses the ribbon controller and sliders to get the “arps” you want. The EMX1SD is well worth the money it cost.
