The Steinway B is a phenomenal instrument. Steinway and Sons are arguably the most well-known piano manufacturer in the world, and it's not hard to see why. The version that I've played most is a 1909 model that has been refurbished considerably, so it's a little more worn in than some of the newer models, but it's still quite similar. The piano is great in that it sounds almost completely different depending on who is playing it. The studio I worked at had one as their main piano, and many a good jazz pianist has used the piano and loved it. Classical pianists also appreciated it very much, and that mutual appreciation is something I didn't think was very typical. The high end on it is bright and shimmering, without being too shrill. I have heard some pretty dynamic and abrasive players on this keyboard and it has never once been too much low or high end. That being said, both the low and high end on the piano are stellar. Dynamically, this piano is incredible, as the response to pressure and touch for even a relatively inexperienced player such as myself range from barely-audible soft tones too deafeningly loud. That is arguably the defining feature of the instrument for me.
I've played many a piano, before and since my time at the studio, and it's a shame that so few of them impress me anymore. Not being a very skilled player, I nonetheless know enough about the instrument itself to know quality when I hear it. Getting one of these in good shape is very much a good investment, as long as the piano is well-maintained. The only downside I can think of is that they are, in fact, rather delicate, and one wrong move can be disastrous. But as long as you don't move it too far, and keep it tuned regularly, it will serve you well. Highly recommended for studio owners who do live recordings of jazz and classical pieces.

Le B Steinway est un instrument phénoménal. Steinway & Sons sont sans doute le fabricant de piano les plus connues dans le monde, et il n'est pas difficile de voir pourquoi. La version que j'ai joué le plus, c'est un modèle 1909 qui a été rénové considérablement, donc c'est un peu plus portés à que certains des modèles les plus récents, mais c'est toujours assez similaire. Le piano est grande en ce qu'elle semble presque complètement différent en fonction de qui est-il de jouer. Le studio j'ai travaillé à eu un comme leur piano principal, et un pianiste de jazz de nombreux bons a utilisé le piano et j'ai adoré. Pianistes classiques également apprécié qu'il est très bien, et que l'appréciation mutuelle est quelque chose que je ne pensais pas été très typique. Le haut de gamme sur elle est lumineuse et chatoyante, sans être trop strident. J'ai entendu certains joueurs très dynamiques et abrasives sur ce clavier et il n'a jamais été une fois la fin trop basse ou haute. Cela étant dit, à la fois le bas de gamme et haut sur le piano sont stellaires. Dynamiquement, ce piano est incroyable, comme la réponse à la pression et le toucher, même pour un joueur relativement inexpérimentés comme moi vont de peine audible des tons doux trop assourdissant. C'est sans doute la caractéristique de l'instrument pour moi.
J'ai joué beaucoup de piano, avant et depuis mon temps au studio, et c'est dommage que si peu d'entre eux m'impressionnent plus. N'étant pas un joueur très habile, j'ai tout de même savoir assez sur l'instrument lui-même de connaître la qualité quand je l'entends. Obtenir l'un de ces en bonne forme est très bien un bon investissement, tant que le piano est bien entretenu. Le seul inconvénient que je peux penser, c'est qu'ils sont, en fait, assez délicate, et un faux mouvement peut être désastreux. Mais tant que vous n'avez pas le déplacer trop loin, et demeurez à l'écoute régulièrement, il vous sera bien utile. Fortement recommandé pour les propriétaires de studios qui ne enregistrements live des morceaux de jazz et classique.
