Create a directory called Silence, and unzip Silence.zip into it, preserving pathnames.

Create a SILENCE_HOME environment variable that points to the Silence directory.

Create a CSOUND_HOME environment variable that points to %SILENCE_HOME%/bin (CsoundVST uses it to load plugin opcodes).

Create a STK_HOME environment variable that points to %SILENCE_HOME% (CsoundVST’s plugin opcodes use it to load waveform and sample files).

To run Silence, execute the Silence.bat batch.

To verify your installation, run Silence using the Silence.bat batch file, open one of the .mml files from the Silence/examples/Silence directory, click on the Generate button and wait until you see the score refresh, click on the Render button and wait until Csound has finished its performance, and click on the Play button.

If you want to use CsoundVST as a VST plugin, place a copy of CsoundVST.dll into your VST shared plugins directory.
