Just searching for more clarification:

While recording some stereo audio over the internet, into my DAW, I have my Dashboard pots, number 2 & 3, with the Pan dialed all the way Counterclockwise on #2 and all the way Clockwise on #3. In this position am I recording the channel separation of the original audio, or am I adding more to the original? I swear it sometimes sounds weird...as if the instruments are tucked way into the far right and left.

I've been told this is the proper position for the Pan pots. Is this right?
