1 ULN 8 combinée avec une 2882 et une ULN 2.
Bonjour.

Je possède déjà une 2882 et une ULN-2 et j'ai beau chercher je ne trouve pas comment combiner les 3 cartes afin d'avoir un total de 18 entrées. L'interface ULN-8 n'ayant ni adat ni S/PDIF.
Pourtant en parcourant la doc de l'ULN-8 je vois: ". The ULN-8 can also be combined with 2882 and ULN-2 units in a complete recording system."
Quelqu'un aurait-il la solution?

Hello Jozman
avec ton uln8 la seule solution pour brancher est l'aesbu via des cables DB 25 vers XLR.
Tu branches ton db 25 sur l'uln8 et tes xlr sur la 2882 et le tour est joué.
Cependant je crois me rappeler qu'il y a 4 entrées XLR et 4 entrée jack sur la 2882, il te faudra donc un cable custom. A voir avec des marques comme vovox ou si tu es sur paris la cablerie moins cher mais de moins bonne qualité.

Pour ce qui est de l'uln2 tu peux la brancher directement en adat sur ta 2882 ou en aesbu il me semble que c'est directement possible entre l'uln2 et la 2882 mais c'est à vérifier.

Malgré tout, je pense que ça ne solutionne pas mon problème.
J'aimerai bénéficier des 8 preamps de la ULN-8, lui ajouter les 8 sorties digitales de la 2882 et les 2 sorties s/pdif de la ULN-2 pour avoir un total de 18 pistes enregistrables en simultané.

Thanks for your email.

At this time it is not possible to route audio between boxes over firewire. Each box will need its own bus to be configured in the mixer.

To monitor the channels of each box on just the ULN-8, you will need to route the mic inputs of the ULN-2 to the AES outputs, and connect to the AES inputs on the ULN-8. The 8 channel submix of 2882 analog inputs can also be sent to AES inputs on the ULN-8.

To clock the ULN-2 and 2882 to the ULN-8, you could chain them over word clock, out of ULN-8, into ULN-2, out of ULN-2 and into 2882. Start with all three units set to Internal clock, and set their sample rates to be the same. Then change the ULN-2 clock source to WC, followed by the 2882 clock source. The "Locked" lights under Status on the front panel should be lit for all three units.

The ULN-8 and 2882 will need to have an aggregate device configured in Apple's Audio MIDI Setup utility (under Applications/Utilities). The boxes that say "Drift Correction" should all remain unchecked.

This aggregate device will allow the channels of the ULN-8 and 2882 to show up in your DAW. The driver streams 20 channels from the ULN-8. So FW 01-08 on the ULN-8 can send the first 8 analog channels of the ULN-8 to inputs 1-8 of your DAW. With the ULN-8's Digital 1/2 strip assigned to FW 09 and 10, the two analog channels of the ULN-2 can be recorded on inputs 9 and 10 in the DAW. The separate 2882 bus will need it's analog channels 1-8 assigned to FW 01-08 as well. These will be picked up inside the DAW on inputs 21-28.

You will also get the submit of 2882 channels 1-8 coming in on ULN-8 Digital inputs 3 and 4. This strip doesn't need a FW return assignment. But it can be sent to headphone mixes you make on the ULN-8 via the sends. Because these channels will be monitored as a submix, it can be helpful to use the 2882 inputs for something like drums. That way, you can pre mix the drums for the headphone mixes, and give each headphone mix it's own independent level for that mix.

We are working on a hardware upgrade that will apply to every interface we make, which will have MH Link, and ethernet based connection between multiple boxes, that allows all of the channels to be combined and presented to the computer over a single (USB) connection, without the need for an aggregate device. We do not have a timeline for when this will be available yet. Please stay in touch.
