1 Problème DX7 : Son de mauvaise qualité ou parasité
Bonjour à tous, je viens d'acquérir un dx7 pour découvrir la synthèse FM et les sons d'une époque où je n'étais pas encore né. Donc après avoir passé une bonne heure à essayer de contrôler les réglages de la bête je me rends bien compte que quelque chose cloche...

Les sons ne sortent pas aussi "clean" qu'ils devraient l'être. Je peux distinguer les notes et les différents presets mais comme s'ils étaient dégradés ou couvert par du bruit parasite. Cela en permanence, à froid ou à chaud.
La pile à une bonne tension et j'ai reset les presets d'usine.

Pardon my French. Please ignore if this offends. The power supply of many Yamaha units is now suspect due to the age, heat and technology Yamaha used (switch mode power supply). I have had to repair quite a few units from the 80's through to the early 90's and it is almost always the power supply. Quite often the electrolytic caps, but not always.

hi, thanks for your advice. Therefore I dismantled the power supply to observe all the capacitors and I think they look good. How can I control the voltage of the capacitors ?

It does look good actually. You can maybe measure the voltage on the power supply outputs (in circuit while operating). Ripple too perhaps. I'm not a recap fan in general, but for an old Yamaha I think it's a good idea. You can source the parts yourself or search for someone that sells them. Like this guy:

Also it could be a main board problem.

Hi grantb5 I followed your advice and received the capacitor kit today.
I have two questions now. First in the kit there are 2 caps that I don't have on my PSU while it's in the location for. Second I received 22uF 35V instead of the original caps 22uf 50V and 100uF 35v instead of the original caps 1000uF 35V. I don't know why this seems weird to me. Could you help me

You should contact the seller and ask for direction, or if you are not satisfied with the service, open a case for a refund.
